There are a million chili recipes out there, but this one is my favorite!
2 (15oz) cans red kidney beans
1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
2 minced garlic gloves
1 (28oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
1 (12oz) can tomato juice (V8)
1 (10 ½ oz) can beef broth
2tsp sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp mustard
½ tsp cloves
1 ½ tsp chili powder
salt and pepper to taste
Brown beef. Drain all grease except 2 tsp. Saute onion, celery, and garlic in skillet uneil onion in tender.
Stir beef with onion mixture.
In a 4 qt pot, combine mix with tomatoes, juice, beef broth, and seasonings, and kidney beans.
Bring to boil, reduce heat.
Cover and simmer 45 minutes
